International Transport Coordinator position:
International Transport coordinator – Freight Forwarding
Due to steady growth we are now looking to take on an experienced candidate with a minimum of 3 years of experience within Road Freight Operations. The role offers an excellent opportunity for career development in a highly respected International business.

Three primary responsibilities:

Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing customers

Managing logistics software
-
Identifying new sales leads

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
​

Arranging Road shipments throughout the UK and Europe
-
Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries
-
Spot quotes and pricing
-
Arranging collections and deliveries
-
Negotiating rates with carriers/ overseas agents to get the best price and transit times
-
Liaising effectively with both sender and receiver, providing an excellent customer service experience

Communicate with customers to re-confirm job schedules and handle issues
-
Administration / computer input for shipments utilising the in-house software system, accurate recording of shipment price, supplier cost and individual job information

Raising job files and all the appropriate paperwork

Processing relevant Export documentation

Invoicing and billing
-
Researching organisations and individuals online, bringing new leads

Meeting company targets set by management

Skills and Qualities:
​

Extensive knowledge of the transportation industry (ideally across all modes: road, sea air)

An analytic mind and good numeracy skills
-
Excellent geographical knowledge
-
Acute attention to detail in gathering correct and accurate information in order to Quote clients for correct size of vehicle/mode of transport required / time scale/ monitoring shipments etc

Excellent negotiation and communication skills

Strong people skills, with an ability to listen to and communicate with others

Ability to work under pressure at times
-
Ability to work individually but also part of a team
-
Ability to multi task and switch from one task to another whilst retaining accuracy
-
High level of spoken and written English. Other foreign languages knowledge is desirable.

It is a role that requires expertise in both import and export European freight movements gained from working for a freight forwarder you would have a proven track record at road freight operative level and some sales development.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Team players and people who have an energetic and enthusiastic attitude to work, Target Oriented, and Driven to Succeed would be preferred.

Starting pay: £20,000 with further pay rise after successful work. Salary is negotiable.
Profit share / bonus on new business developed.
Immediate start.
Office Hours 08:30-17:00 Hours Monday to Friday with 1-hour lunch break.
